Children can prove to be an unlimited source of inspiration for those looking back. As such, Ali Cavanaugh explores childhood as a theme for her new series. The American artist is renowned for tackling the philosophical and thematic. Her new series, “Immerse”, is yet another testament to this style. Cavanaugh looked to her young daughters for inspiration and, using watercolor, she impressively conveys childhood innocence through portraits.
Citing her process, Cavanaugh writes on her website, “Immerse is an abandonment of the artist’s hyper-representational aesthetic and, rather, embraces the fluidity and ungoverned nature of watercolor.”
