Exquisite perforated surfaces reimagine common three dimensional objects

Argentinean artist, Pablo Lehmann, labors extensively over each piece of sculpture. Constructed primarily out of paper, textiles or plastics, the lacy forms gain their perforated surface from text cutouts. The work is surfaced in language.

The intricate detail is astounding and nearly overwhelming for the viewer. With forms that range from footwear to windows to bookcases, the works show us new beauty in these everyday household objects. The sculptures expand the shape beyond its original context to shift how these common items are perceived.

Lehmann is currently an instructor at the National University of the Arts in Buenos Aires.
