Japanese photographer Miki Asai takes wonderful photographs of the wildlife around her. What makes her photos different is the extreme closeup style of the images. The Hokkaido-based artist takes stunning pics of the insects and plants she sees on the Northern most Japanese island.
The result is that she reveals an unseen world in which ants, snails and flowers become bigger than life. These tiny animals and plants become magical and otherworldly in Asai’s hands and show that beauty is everywhere if we slow down, stop and take a close look.
