“The Road Home” oil on panel, 24” x 12”

I am an artist currently based in Pennsylvania. I recently moved here from my longtime home in Omaha, Nebraska, but I’m originally from the east coast, so I’ve come home!

“Reflection” oil on panel, 12” x 24”

I’m very glad to be here—my studio is all set up and I have even finished a painting. It’s a landscape of a delightful place in Colorado.

“Red Rocks” oil on panel, 20” x 16”

I will probably still be painting some pieces from out west, as I have lots of research material from there. I will soon be painting pieces from my new home. In the past, my art has graced the walls of government, corporate and private collectors; hopefully, they will all enjoy my new vistas.

“Hidden Waterfall” oil on panel, 24” x 24”

I primarily work in a realistic style, although some of my pieces have a sort of fantasy bent to them.

“The Creek” oil on panel, 24” x 20”

I enjoy both recreating what I see and also taking what I see into a bit of a different view. Traditional realism is the style of painting I am most passionate about and within which I usually work.

“Stormy Weather” oil on panel, 16” x 20”

I have studied and researched the methods of oil painting that many of the old masters used. I try to utilize those methods in my work, whether to produce a landscape or something a bit more stylized.

“Autumn Splendor” oil on panel, 18” x 24”

The use of successive layers of paint, each with more of an oil content than the last, gives my paintings more depth. I finish all my paintings off with a protective layer of retouch varnish, which brings the colors back to life and keeps them at their original brilliant hues.

“Waterfalls” oil on canvas, 16″ x 24″

The inspiration for my art comes from many different places, including my travels throughout the United States and the awe-inspiring beauty I find there.

“Wind Swept” oil on panel, 24” x 12”

At other times, I am inspired by my own spirituality. More inspiration and ideas come from suggestions my family and friends make as well as from my own warped sense of humor.

“Into Miller Woods” oil on panel, 12” x 18”

It all depends on how I feel when I first start the research into a new piece. Right now, I’m searching for what to start next!!
