Belgian pop star Stromae’s new music video ‘carmen’ is the latest animation project of Oscar-nominated director Sylvain Chomet (The Triplets of Belleville, The Illusionist). Drawing on the lyrics’ commentary on social media culture, the fantastic music video follows the downward spiral into the social media abyss of the protagonist and his pet blue bird, which looks a lot like the infamous Twitter logo. It’s a gorgeously animated affair with a biting social commentary that certainly makes us reflect on our social media habits.
