Herbarium is a sprout, a sprout of hope for a future with more sensibility towards the plant world that surrounds us and oxygenates us.
Sara and Mariasole try to convey their passion for plant species project through Herbarium, an artistic project that through different forms related to illustration leads to discover the vegetal beauty and its story.

Herbarium’s goal is to shed light on the role, the relevance and the charm of natural biodiversities and to make us aware of the natural richness surrounding us, about which we should all care.
Everything was born from the need to express themselves and to “bring oxygen” to the city, where caught up in the city frenzy we no longer dwell on the beauty of simple things and so, with chalk they drew for the first time on the streets of Bologna and then from there to other cities, including Lisbon to distract attention from our routine by letting walls and streets blossom.
Later Herbarium branched out into other supports in glass, paper, and metal, trying to enliven everyday objects such as teacups, teapots, and dishes.A better expression of their intent, however, is a drawing created while walking on the snow: it is an exhortation to reflect on what track we are leaving and what we can change step by step so that from a distance, as in photography, we will be able to see the results.
Every species has a story that somehow always involves ours: this is their way to tell it!
