Hey Jedi, May the Fourth Be with You

To celebrate the launch of the newest Star Wars Original Series, The Acolyte, as well as the designers and makers who have worked to create distant worlds, creatures and—yes—the droids we all love, Autodesk and Disney invite you to join their ranks by entering a Droid design competition.

The highly-anticipated Star Wars Original series, The Acolyte, will introduce Pip: a chipper, handheld repair droid customized with a wide array of tool attachments, who’s always eager to help. Pip was developed by creature effects legend Neal Scanlan, who used Autodesk’s Fusion software to bring the lovable droid to life.

Listen beautiful relax classics on our Youtube channel.

The challenge? Use Autodesk software to design the droid you’ve always dreamed of for a chance at prizes–like a trip to see your droid on display at Lucasfilm HQ. Submissions open today, May 4th, and can be submitted until 11:59:59 ET on June 4th. This competition is only open to US Residents.

“Autodesk’s software helps design and make the world we live in – and the galaxies far, far away. We’re celebrating the creative minds that have used our technology to help make many of the droids we know and love across the universe – including the newest droid in the Star Wars galaxy – Pip. We hope our droid maker contest inspires makers and innovators alike to bring their wildest imaginations to life.”

–Dara Treseder, Chief Marketing Officer of Autodesk.
