Highlights from The Tech Awards 11th Annual Gala, October 20, 2011 in Silicon Valley, California, including Jeff Skoll accepting the prestigious James C. Morgan Global Humanitarian Award 2011. The Tech Awards is a signature program of The Tech Museum. Presented by Applied Materials, the international program annually honors a global humanitarian and 15 innovators who use technology to benefit humanity. Laureates of The Tech Awards are selected from among hundreds of applicants by expert panels coordinated by the Center for Science, Technology, and Society at Santa Clara University. Since its inception in 2001, The Tech Awards has honored 245 laureates, awarded $2.75 million in cash prizes, and raised more than $7 million for educational programs at The Tech Museum.
