Industrial Design Student Work: Portable Outdoor Seating

This Tipi portable outdoor seating is by Oscar Boyer, done as an ID student at France’s ENSCI. His goal was to design something simple that would keep his butt clean when sitting on dirt (though the photos show only grass).

I’m not convinced of the sturdiness of the back support (and the product name is problematic in today’s climate), but I like the thinking. I also dig that there’s a little area to throw your stuff and keep it off of the ground.
