Industrial Designer Explains How Formation Design Group Uses VR for Design Validation

Industrial designer Bob Henshaw is co-founder of Formation Design Group, an ID consultancy that focuses on human-centered design. They’ve worked on everything from aircraft interiors to specialty tools, sporting goods to cabs/cockpits for industrial machinery.

In this video, Henshaw explains how Formation utilizes VR in their workflow, using aircraft interiors, the aforementioned cabs, and even autonomous forklifts as examples. He also shows you how they quickly and cost-effectively cobble custom-built controllers together for testing:
