Pairing a soft spot for pets with a love of adventure, Pittsburgh-based company Spruce has created “the smartest travel dog bed ever.” Available on Indiegogo, this ingenious innovation doubles as doggy luggage, allowing you to you easily pack, tote, and stow all of your furry friend’s belongings when you’re on the road.
When opened, Spruce’s pet bed offers your cuddly companion a cozy place to curl up. The bed comes in three sizes and features a mattress made of memory foam and washable and waterproof fitted sheets, ensuring your furry friend is as comfy as can be. In addition to giving your dog a snug place to snooze, the bed also folds into a durable dog suitcase, complete with cushioned handles and easy-to-access pockets.
Elijah and Leah Wiegmann, the married design duo behind Spruce, were inspired to create the mobile pet bed for their own dogs, Scooter and Moe. “We love our dogs, and we take them with us everywhere,” they explain. “When we travel, we pack just as much stuff for our pups as we do for ourselves. Unable to find a convenient way to pack up for our pups, we decided to design our own solution. Not only can we get out the door in five minutes, but now when we travel, our dogs get to sleep in the same comfort that they do when we are at home.”
