Insect sculptures assembled with tiny screws by Edouard Martinet

The incredible French artist Edouard Martinet is at it again with some brand-new designs from his already notorious collection of insects made from recycled materials. These are no ‘random’ trash repurposed materials, Martinet meticulously seeks out the perfect textures, shapes, and sizes to construct truly real looking bugs.

What makes these sculptures very unique is that they are not glued or welded together, but are contracted using tiny screws. This incredible detail brings a level of authenticity to the work that is unmatched by any other miniature constructions that I have seen before. Martinet also humorously leaves the brand name tags of the original recycled materials on the finished work as if to say “yeah thats right, its not a real bug.”

Listen beautiful relax classics on our Youtube channel.

His new exhibition opens at Sladmore Contemporary in London on November 27 and goes through January 31, 2014. Stop by and see Edouard Martinet’s 17 years of work in a single room!
