Dry humor combined with some scientific experimentation resulted in the strangely intriguing short video entitled, Bompas & Parr’s Gherkin Chandelier. In the video, British culinary duo David Lane and Jeremy Valender began with the pickle in its original state, as a sandwich accompaniment. They then explain the process by which the pickle can be used as a light bulb.
The result of their experimentation is a chandelier of 60 pickles that draws as much power as required to light up a city block. For a more morbid perspective, it’s as much power as needed to power two electric chairs.
