This enlightening short video takes us on a journey through the history of the swimsuit. ‘Evolution of the Bikini’ was created by design house Forge Apollo for Breathless Resorts and is modeled by popular social media personality, Amanda Cerny.
It begins with the swim dresses of the 19th century, works its way to the one-piece trends of the mid-20th century and comes through present day with the popular bikini style suite. Interestingly, the bikini was originally introduced in 1946 by French engineer Louis Réard, but was not popularized until the 1960s.
