For us, a countdown to the holidays isn’t complete without the launch of our annual Core77 Ultimate Gift Guide Competition. It’s not only one of the best resources on the web for finding cool gifts for your loved ones, it’s also user-controlled and a great chance to win some prizes to buy more holiday gifts (or for yourself—we get it!).

Today marks the first day of the Ultimate Gift Guide competition, so get started on your entry now! Submit your guide before December 9th, and winners will be announced on December 12th.

The rules

The rules are simple: Submit a themed gift guide to this year’s Core77 Ultimate Gift Guide competition. The theme is up to you, it can be simple, it can be complex, it can be specific or broad. Once your gift guide is live, our readers can upvote favorites.

A hot tip: themes that have won prizes in the past are usually entertaining and are well supported by their individual gift items. Visuals are also key, this is a design site after all.

The prizes

Readers have several chances to win prizes this year—there’s the Participation Prize, the Community Choice Prize, and the Editor’s Choice Prize.

If this ain’t your first rodeo – if you’ve made a guide before – you will get a $15 Apple gift card prize, just for participating in this year’s hoedown (that’s right, an instant win!).

All published guides, regardless of provenance, will be in the running for the Community Choice prize — a $200 MoMA Design Store gift card — and the Editor’s Pick prize — a $300 MoMA Design Store gift card.

The deadlines

The Core77 Ultimate Gift Guide Competition wraps up on Friday, December 9th, and winners will be announced on Monday, December 12th.

FAQs

How many gifts should I include in my guide?

Only gift guide submissions with images, descriptions, links, and pricing for five (5) gifts will be accepted for consideration.

Am I only allowed to create one guide?

No! Participants are allowed to submit as many gift guides as they wish.

How does voting work?

Simply click the up arrow on the right side of your favorite guide. Note, you can only vote for one guide, so make sure it’s your absolute favorite!

How does Editor’s Choice work?

Our internal editorial team will be picking the best guides based on the creativity of their theme, the quality of gift selections, as well as image choice.
