Minarc’s ION Hotel in Iceland unveiled

The award winning Santa Monica based design studio, Minarc, have just unveiled their latest architectural project called the ION Hotel. Sitting atop some of the most beautiful terrain in the world, this weekend getaway is truly contemporary.

What used to be an abandoned building on Mount Hengill is now a luxury hotel exhibiting innovative design and sustainable architecture.

ION is centrally located near all of the local attractions including the impressive Nesjavellir Geothermal Power Station, which is Iceland’s second largest geothermal power station. This station services ION’s transportation system and provides neighboring towns with electricity and heating.
