While most think of dioramas in the context of school projects, mixed-media artist TALWST is taking the art form to a new level. Using miniature jewelry boxes, TALWST creates intricate scenes inside the boxes that aim to make a statement and have viewers thinking about poignant topics.
The newest collection of his dioramas, ‘Minimized Histories: Marginalized and Unrest,’ captures a handful of politically charged scenes — like the murder of Mike Brown. TALWST will be creating another collection of art for the June issue of VICE Magazine. For more of his work, visit his website.
