Mood-bending installations make you feel like you’re standing in music

Among all the research being conducted to allow people to better experience music, there is a  duo approaching the subject differently, in a more artistic fashion.

Toluwalase Rufai and Khai Grubbs are recent graduates of architecture, and have formed an art collective in Washington D.C, called Toki. Their goal is simple: to create installations that will manipulate one’s perception of being in public spaces. Their latest, Synth Series, is an installation made completely out of intertwining patterns of colorful yarn, where the yarn represents music. The displays are created live in public, which maximizes the effect of drawing the viewer “into the music”. Check out some stills of the mind-bending installations below!
