Quirky Salvador Dalí Doll Includes Interchangeable Mustaches and a Melting Clock

Furthering their mission to make art history accessible through play, Today is Art Day has added a Salvador Dalí doll to their arsenal of artist action figures. Intended to “celebrate his art and eccentricities,” the Dalí action figure captures the quirky spirit of the avant-garde artist.

Though he stands at just 5 inches tall, this tiny toy is packed with personality. Clutching a melting clock—a motif apparent in some of the artist’s most well-known paintings, drawings, and sculptures—and clad in a lobster-red jacket, he leans on his signature cane. While these accessories have come to represent the artist, nothing says “Dalí” quite like his famous facial hair. In homage to his over-the-top handlebars, the Dalí figurine comes equipped with three interchangeable mustaches.

In addition to these fun features, each petite plaything comes with a small-scale easel and miniature masterpieces—including a pocket-sized Persistence of Memoryso you can see the Surrealist in his artistic element.

Along with the Old MastersVincent Van Gogh, and Frida Kahlo (available in our My Modern Met Store), Salvador Dalí is part of Today is Art Day’s line of “Art History Heroes.” Like these older editions, the Dalí doll has made its dazzling debut on Kickstarter.

Adding a Surrealist twist to their line of “Art History Heroes,” Today Is Art Day has created a quirky Salvador Dalí doll.

The figure is depicted clutching a melting clock and holding his iconic cane.

In addition to these accessories, the toy also comes with three playful mustaches…

…so you can style his signature facial hair.

Each Dalí doll is equipped with an easel and miniature masterpieces, and it comes in a fact-covered box.

The famous figure is the latest addition to Today is Art Day’s collection of artist action figures.
