Renowned fashion photographer sells beloved art collection to raise funds for Peruvian museum

Mario Testino’s house and studio are filled with amazing photographs and artwork. Throughout his life, these played a huge role in influencing his artistic vision.

At present, about 400 artworks by various famous artists such as Wolfgang Tillmans, Gilbert & George, Sterling Ruby and Nan Goldin, will be sold as a fundraising effort. These prestigious pieces are part of Testino’s personal collection.

He claims it’s difficult to say goodbye with such beauty, but his drive to develop Museo Mate is a bigger priority. His goal is to raise £8 million for the museum.

“In the art world you probably can’t mention that word [beauty], because it’s not interesting or not deep enough,” said Testino. “But I’m just always amazed by it.
