Series of conceptual perfumes inspired by bass, drone and noise

“Unsound,” a Polish music festival, aims to bottle up the smell of live sound and music with its conceptual series of perfumes called ‘Ephemera.’ This novel concept is a collaboration with three avant-garde electronic musicians, Kode9, Tim Hecker, and Ben Frost, and master perfumer Geza Schoen of Escentric Molecules.

Bass, Noise, and Drone are the three scents that are inspired by the smell of a burning vacuum cleaner, olfactory memories, Catholic church holidays, and an imagining of day-glow incense from musical rituals, respectively.

For Geza Schoen, these unconventional ideas translate into notes of aldehydes, ozone, black pepper, fir and juniper, patchouli, vetiver, leather, woodsmoke, rum, tea, moss, saffron and more. You can find out more about Ephemera here.
