Silentium, a poetic photo series by Laura Berson.
Laura Berson is a French photographer who currently lives and works in Paris. After trying several types of studies, Laura Berson moved towards a more intuitive photographic, plastic, and writing work. This way, she likes to express all her thoughts in order to find the essence of something. Laura Berson recently suggested me to have a look at her Silentium photo series. These are her poetic words that masterfully match the images: “By dint of tendons stretched over hands that try, how best they can , to retain the skeleton of our identity, the bonds of the relationships that we have waited so long for are broken in a wobbly tandem that makes us bouncing over in a two-dollars binge. Wanting to fill the void of our boredoms, we spend our lives emptying the attic of our desires. To seek in the other reflection of oneself one thirsts with one’s hand which acts as a paddle, to row better in a drying river, on the bed of the ego beaten in breach. On the ground, facing the dust that remains, the man sent back to his same, tent again and desperately clinging to it, to better detach himself as soon as he disappears in a diluted silence, without giving him time to regain to get one’s breath back of love and fresh water in his desire for senseless communion with our already outdated species. Time passes, and the desires to socialize pass away, by dint of incensing one’s neighbor who will soon have deserted in front of a too exacerbated sensitivity.”
