Designer Patricia Urquiola seemingly can do no wrong, with her latest collaboration continuing the trend. Simoon is a collection of two new glass coffee tables that were created for Glas Italia. The furniture designs were kept deliberately simple, using only essential lines that serve to highlight the material that’s made by UV gluing 12 mm thick ground polished extra-light glass slabs. The glass surface is then covered in a grit that comes from chopped Murano glass, lending a beautiful finish that’s pleasing to the touch. The finished sheet rests on slabs to create these miniature architectural feats, which are available in amethyst and dark topaz.
