Stockholm studio makes fluid sculptures of glass and stone

Glass can be made to do some really unexpected things – like mimicking deformed glass.

Studio E.O, based in Stockholm, just launched a project called Indefinite Vases. The project involves handblown glass and cut stone, and features traditional vases that are melted, then cooled around edges. The resulting sculptures are unconventional in shape while also retaining a sense of balance. According to their project statement, ” Indefinite Vases are sculptures or containers. Functional or decorative. The contrast between the cut stone and the form of the hand blown glass emphasizes the relation between space and object, an interplay between a fragile material and its solid counterpart.” A limited number of the vases are available for purchase through Galerie kreo. Check them out below and learn more on Studio E.O’s website.
