Our eyes embody a sense of individuality, life and even humanness. Looking into someone’s, or something’s eyes, evokes compassion and reminds us what it is to be truly alive. These close-up images of animals’ eyes by Suren Manvelyan are both unique to a variety of animals and united by the common trait of vision and life.
The images are strange because they are void of any physical evidence to identify the creature how we typically do – by shape. Instead, we get an anonymous intimate look into the galaxies of vastly unique and beautiful irises.
