Studio Ghibli has been at the forefront of 2D animated films for decades and its acclaimed director, Hayao Miyazaki, has found a special place in the hearts of fans.
Recently, one of Studio Ghibli’s lead animators, Yoshiharu Sato, helped produce a series of three, masterfully-crafted commercials for bread company, Francois. The commercials feature the same visual quality the studio is renowned for and the subject of a mother and daughter pair closely follows the themes of some of Studio Ghibli’s films. While the main character is definitely Francois’ “Slow Bread,” featuring all-natural ingredients, the commercial feels less like an advertisement and more like a short-film series with enjoyable recurring characters.
