If there’s any piece of nifty technology that we should be funding right now, it’s teddy bears. For more than 100 years, the stuffed animals have been putting smiles across the faces of children (and even grown men like me). For Brazilian advertising company DM9Rio, teddy bears meant innovation.
They partnered with the Amaral Carvalho Hospital to create ‘ELO,’ a toy bear which carries audio notes sent via messaging service, Whatsapp. Young cancer patients spend a very long time in hospitals isolated from their family and friends. ELO tries to change that by filling in the gap between children and their loved ones. Check out this heartwarming video showing off ELO.
