The 2021 Core77 Design Awards Speculative Design category honors physically or digitally produced projects designed for the purpose of cultural commentary, intervention, or exploration, or created as speculative design for a client or educational institution. Examples include future scenarios and social critique.
This year’s Core77 Design Awards Speculative Design team was led by Deepa Butoliya, Assistant Professor at the Stamps School of Art & Design at the University of Michigan. Joining Deepa on the panel was Ti Chang, Co-founder at Crave, Veronica Ranner, Designer, Artist and Ph.D. Candidate at Royal College of Art and Laura Forlano, Associate Professor of Design at the Institute of Design.
