The Cloisters: Part Three

Timothy Husband, Curator in the Department of Medieval Art and The Cloisters at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, discusses the Belles Heures of Jean of France, Duc of Berry. As one of the only almost complete prayer books that survive from the Duc of Berry’s library, it is a rare example of a beautifully preserved illuminated text. This lecture is part of a large series that gives a behind-the-scenes look at The Cloisters, which was presented on April 2, 2008.

May 2013 through May 2014 marks the seventy-fifth anniversary of The Cloisters.
