Everything about the Cumaru outdoor collection spells out relaxed sophistication. It’s a group of furniture that makes you seek out reasons to spend time relaxing in it, to spend time in nature. Designed by Aristeu Pires for Sossego Design, the collection is named after the Cumaru wood used to craft it. With a dense interlocked grain that all but ensures durability, it’s perfectly suited for outdoor use (and has been used in everything from home building to musical instruments!). Each chair, table and stool is hand-finished by Brazilian craftsmen so there’s no need to treat, because it’s naturally resistant to fungi, scratches and decay. Light and humidity might add a silver patina over time, but it won’t affect the sustainably sourced wood’s strength. The pieces that make up the Cumaru outdoor collection just might be the finishing touches for your garden or poolside this Summer.
