The most romantic place to exchange wedding vows can be found in Japan

Last year, we featured an incredible architecture made by Hiroshi Nakamura — the Sayama Forest Chapel. Today, we look back at another work he made which, just like the first one, has a semblance of an attempt to create a structure that will add value to the location while preserving the natural form of its surroundings.

The Ribbon Chapel stands midway on a hill enjoying a panoramic view of Seto Inland Sea of Japan. It is characterized by entwining two spiral stairways which made it a self-supporting structure that architecturally embodies the act of marriage in a pure form. If this is not THE perfect place for weddings, we don’t know what is.

Completed in 2014, the chapel is located in a garden of a luxury resort in Hiroshima — Bellavista Spa & Marina Onomichi. Check out the rest of the photos of the chapel and other works of Nakamura & NAP on their website.
