Kyle Thompson became interested in photography and started to experiment with the medium as a young adult. His anxiety prevented him from speaking to other people so the emerging photographer experimented with shooting self-portraits on his own. After producing a series of dream-like images Thompson posted them to Reddit and soon after blew-up in popularity receiving nearly 4 million views. The Internet stardom launched his photo career and his beautiful images have since been featured in numerous magazines and continue to be shared around the web.
His self-portraits are surreal narratives including scenes of miniatures, dreamlike moments of floating, and high-speed captured emotion in the midst of flying dust. The scenarios project the feeling of a lonely adventure in a romantic world where fantasy spectacle playfully prevails over the laws of physics.
