The Velar Sofa Is Perfectly Understated Furniture

Fogia welcomes a new piece of furniture to their family with the introduction of the Velar sofa. The brand’s latest collaboration with Norwegian designer Andreas Engesvik, Velar is relaxed and welcoming. Sitting close to the ground with generous proportions, it’s an understated piece with enough space for two or more people. And its high, curved back and open sides create a silhouette that looks great from every angle and is suitable for public and private settings. Velar’s design brings together a steel tube frame with slim legs and one continuous cushion that curves to recreate the comfort of sitting in bed.

The Velar sofa is the latest collaboration between Fogia and Engesvik, who have worked together on iconic Fogia pieces, including the Tiki and Dini sofas and the Bollo and Barba chairs. “The Fogia team puts a lot of trust in me, which allows me to feel very free in my design. The most successful design pushes me out of my comfort zone. If I’m overly confident in a product it’s usually not particularly interesting or relevant! Fogia is very comfortable with this approach during development,” says Engesvik.

Velar is handmade in Fogia’s factory and customizable in a variety of upholstery and color options. The sofa can also be complemented by decorative matching cushions.
