These are the most hyper-realistic figurative rug paintings (without a figure) EVER!

Painting drapery is a challenge but Antonio Santin makes it look so easy with his hyper-realistic rug works.

It’s so hard to accept the fact that these floral-patterned rugs are, in fact, paintings rendered incredibly well. Combining thousands of strokes to mimic the texture of weaves with thick chunks of oil paint, Santin’s works can span nearly five-feet long. The New York-based artist considers his paintings “figurative paintings without a figure,” according to the The Creators Project.
