They say New York City is the capital of the world, and while many people outside the tri-state area would challenge that, there is no disputing the outsized role the city plays in the American design world. NYCxDesign is a civic organization that promotes and celebrates the NYC design community through programming, outreach and educational initiatives.
The NYCxDesign website quotes some impressive statistics – “New York City is a powerful design destination, housing the largest concentration of design studios and firms in the world with over 60,000 designers, 8,000 design firms, 1,000 museums, galleries, and cultural institutions, and 10 of the nation’s best design and architecture schools.”
