Towering Barbie wave sculpture made with 3,000 dolls

This massive wave of Barbie dolls can be found on display on the beach at the Sculptures by the Sea exhibit in Australia. It is an art piece by Annette Thas who collected over 3,000 used dolls from second-hand stores and sales to complete this epic work of art.

‘Wave 1′ is 12-feet wide and dwarfs viewers who stand in its huge shadow. The work symbolizes the personal stories of every doll’s former owner and was inspired by Thas’ own childhood experiences.

‘Wave 1’ was recently selected for the People’s Choice Prize at Sculpture By the Sea.
