Universal Orlando Resort has just released the first renderings of the expansion plans for their Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park. The new ‘Diagon Alley’ section is said to be even more realistic than the existing Hogsmeade park and will totally enclose visitors in the magical Harry Potter experience.
The focus of this expansion will be the famous Gringotts Bank complete with a massive fire-breathing dragon. From Diagon Alley you can travel to Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlour, hop on the new ride “Escape from Gringotts,” and even visit King’s Cross Station featuring a functioning train that travels to the existing Hogsmeade section of the park!

Alan Gilmore, art director of the Harry Potter films and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter explained the Diagon Alley expansion to Fox News, “We’ve gone further than Hogsmeade, where you’re going to be absolutely enclosed. There’ll be no sight or sound of the outside world. You will be in the magical world in every direction.”
