Visual brainstorming — you’ve never seen paint rollers like these before

Danish design studio PUTPUT has put together a project that documents their visual exploration of the paint roller. The photo series shows paint rollers with the strangest attachments — a baguette, a raccoon tail, a balloon, and a kebab, to name a few. Their explorations were extensive indeed with about 60 variations of the theme documented on their project page. “We have been painstakingly collecting paint rollers and objects for an extended period of time,” said the designers.

The design studio was established in 2011 by Stephan Friedli and Ulrik Martin Larsen. Their work begins with deep investigations of mundane objects while embracing what they refer to as a “humorous undercurrent”.
