This year’s Beijing Design Week had a great turnout, with the highlight being a structure called VULCAN. Based on the Latin word for volcano, VULCAN is the world’s largest 3D-printed structure yet. The pavilion was unveiled at the 2015 Beijing Design Week and quickly took home a Guinness World Record.
Created by LCD (Laboratory for Creative Design), VULCAN took nearly 30 days to complete utilizing 20 large-scale 3D printers. The sculpture was then assembled by 15 people over a period of 12 days.
