A visual and cinematographic metaphor of the creative process of the graphic design studio.
With the objective in mind of engaging with clients through graphic activism and relating the cinematographic passion with the creative process, Barceló Estudio has designed and produced a self-promotional print series. Using individually designed movie posters, expressions, and humoristic elements, each print illustrates a visual journey through the different stages of the project process. The individual stages of the process reflect the fragile articulation among process, designer, and customer. They symbolize odd or witty situations among the three characters. A minimalist style, as well as synthetic aesthetics, inspire the design of the different elements. They provide a distinctive character that identifies the studio. “Each mm matters” is the slogan of this project, meaning that everything adds up. The final design is built upon the sum of each part, resulting in a structured and global design. read more below.
2,640 mm is the distance from the beginning to the end of the creative journey, a short yet strong distance. The journey moves on until reaching the main goal: an effective and high-quality design. In order to emphasize the concept of depth in the process, a complementary element has been designed to measure the thickness of the printed piece. The numeric correlation among pages follows a descending metric language.
