This ubiquitous mass media and entertainment conglomerate is slowly reaching its tentacles ever deeper into all things news and entertainment, owning or having a large stake in companies like ABC, ESPN, Touchstone Pictures, Marvel, Lucasfilm, Pixar, and VICE, amongst others.
It truly is a dystopian Disney World (™) we are living in, as the sinister mouse slowly gains control over every aspect of our media consumption. Even we here at Bored Panda are often the source of conspiracy theories regarding our relationship with the Star Wars killers – we just can’t seem to stop talking about them. Reimagined Disney Princesses, anyone?

Now, they are coming for us in the last place we felt safe – our streaming services. Throwing a huge bomb into the Netflix/Amazon dominated market, Disney is vying to capture our eyeballs here too, with the release of its Disney + service. Predictably, people are already losing their s**t and already preparing to hunker down for the winter with a six month supply of junk food and extra batteries for the remote. That’s the Disney effect!
