The 2021 Core77 Design Awards Design for Social Impact Honorees

The 2021 Core77 Design Awards Design for Social Impact category honors projects designed to directly benefit social, humanitarian, community or environments. This year, we prioritized projects that coincided with important issues highlighted in 2020, including the COVID-19 pandemic, the fight for racial justice, humanitarian efforts related to climate change or forest fires and more. Other examples of social impact work include: community or environmental impact initiatives, products for underrepresented communities, distribution systems, disaster relief, etc.

This year’s Core77 Design Awards Design for Social Impact team was led by Sloan Leo, Founder/CEO at Flox Studio. Joining Sloan on the panel was Stacey Panousopoulos , Executive Director at AIGA NY, Alvin Schexnider, BizOps Lead, Civic/Service Designer, DEI and Racial Justice Strategist, Lora Appleton, Founder at kinder MODERN & Female Design Council, Julius Tapper, Human-Centered Design and Innovation Consultant at Doblin and Wesley Hall, Senior Designer at Douglas Elliman.
