Dominic Wilcox’s ‘No Place Like Home: GPS shoes,’ ‘Stained Glass Driverless Sleeper Car of the Future,’ and ‘Binaudios: The Sounds of a City’’ have been featured in previous DesignFaves articles. Wilcox, practically brimming over with creative ideas, is known for his unique outlook, which lends a fresh perspective to the everyday.
One of his most charming series is his ‘Watch Sculptures: Movements in Time,’ commissioned by Dezeen in 2011. Figurines are set onto watch faces under glass domes, creating miniature closed-system scenarios. In ‘Sitting Man’ a man is attached to the second hand and his seat to the minute hand so that he is only able to grab a break one second every minute.
