Nature is literally bursting with materials that, if used effectively, can make for astonishing works. Helen Ahpornsiri, for example, used pressed leaves in her art.
The English artist uses pressed plantlife as part of her ongoing series of wildlife illustrations, rendering insects, animals, and other colorful creatures. She has recently started experimenting with gold leaves using them to accentuate certain parts of her illustrations. Elephants, koala bears, frogs, and camels are just a few of the animals Ahpornsiri has treated with her technique.
