A Hideaway Workstation Based on the Design of the Bi-Level Toolbox

Swiss industrial designer Benjamin Thut took the design of the classic bi-level toolbox, and turned it on its side to create this Tool Cabinet 490 mobile workstation.

“Can be placed anywhere in the room and also cuts a fine figure in the office. Available in red, white and black.”

The cabinet is made from Dibond aluminum composite panels, and the mechanisms are steel.

I’d say the cabinet was ahead of its time, being designed way back in 2004; these would’ve made the perfect hideaway home office during pandemic times.

As of September 2022 these are still in production and run 5,850 Swiss Francs (USD $6,125).
