Japanese photographer Osamu Yokonami explores the fragility of human nature and the idea of innocent identity in his amazing photo series ‘Assembly.’ Groups of uniformed schoolgirls are taken into the wilderness to join in unison with the vastness of nature. Photographed from a far distance, the girls become a collective entity that both stands out and disappears into the scenery. The central concept is the same, yet every setting is different and beautiful in its nostalgia-evoking simplicity.
The various locations and movements express a wide range of moods: lightheartedness, joy, eeriness, and melancholia. Lose yourself in nature with the pics below, and visit Yokonami’s website for more of his works.
