Artist creates black renditions of classic cartoon heroes

In an 100-page sketchbook titled “B.R.U.H.: Black Renditions of Universal Heroes”, artist and illustrator Markus Prime has recreated some of our most known superheroes and anime characters. In these recreations, the artist has switched the gender or race of the characters, creating some seriously awesome new heroes.

“B.R.U.H. is a collection of images where [he] takes well-known superheroes and reimagines them as black women to explore the idea that representation matters.” he told the Creator’s Project.
