Art Basel and Google Arts & Culture have teamed up to put up “Virtual Frontiers: Artists experimenting with Tilt Brush,” a show that proves the viability of virtual reality as a medium for art. At this event, happening at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from March 23 to 25, works that were created with Google’s 3D drawing and painting application Tilt Brush will take center stage.
The participating artists, handpicked by Art Basel and then commissioned by Google Art & Culture to create original works using Tilt Brush, are Boychild, Cao Fei, Robin Rhode, Sun Xun and Yang Yongliang.

“This collaboration extends Art Basel’s interest in the digital realm and how artists approach this topic on different levels. Virtual Frontiers allows internationally renowned artists to experiment with new technology and to expand their practice into another dimension,” said Marc Spiegler, Art Basel’s Global Director.
