Packaging design by branding and graphic design studio Arithmetic for the chocolates of Chez Christophe.
Canadian studio Arithmetic was commissioned to produce a striking packaging line for Chez Christophe’s chocolate bar series including suitable gift boxes. The idea behind the design is based on connection and to the vastness of nature. The studio’s objective was to express this connection through luxurious packaging design and a unique graphic concept based on the substantial uncoated textured stock as well as a refined gold foil finishing and folding systems. Inspired by the Swiss Art Deco lacquer designs of Jean Dunand (1877-1942), the graphic designers have created a visual language that celebrates the Swiss roots of the chocolates. Using geometric forms of triangles and repetitive line work, they developed a design that nods to the mountains of the Swiss Alps.
