Eerie photographs show the quiet side of Chinatown, New York City

French photographer Franck Bohbot has a new series of photos that capture the rarely seen beauty of New York City’s Chinatown. Entitled ‘Chinatown,’ the photos show a perspective of New York City that’s rarely seen: deserted streets and alleys, shuttered shops and lofty buildings. These are all viewed through a foggy lens that will make you see Manhattan’s most distinctive ethnic district in a different light.

Taken at night, the photos escape the hackneyed shots of crowded alleys and bustling streets commonly associated with NYC, but instead use the glow of street lamps to find tranquility in one of the world’s busiest cities.
